About the Role:

We are looking for a general assistant to join the team at a new opening at the Royal Portbury docks. Providing meals to staff over breakfast and lunch periods. Working on the till and servery plating food from the line. Assisted by a kitchen team member your responsibilities will on the front of house take orders payment and serving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve meals, snacks & drinks including taking payments.
  • Clean all equipment, crockery & cutlery as required.
  • Help building made to order sandwiches and building plates from the service line.
  • Ensure all food is handled in accordance with the standards specified in the Food Safety & Quality Management System.
  • Receive deliveries and check supplier invoices in accordance with the company systems/procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies.
  • Complete all compliance and HACCP paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house team member to ensure smooth and friendly service.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Level 2 (or able to achieve on appointment).
  • Health & Safety qualification.
  • Basic COSHH.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience Required:

  • Customer Care and Customer Service experience, preferably in a Catering environment - candidate must have the ability to communicate positively and confidently about Somerset Larder to our consumers and clients.
  • Problem solving skills, ability to see the ‘end game’ and work around particular hurdles placed at short notice.
  • Ability to use and understand Cash, Cash Handling, EPOS and Cashless systems.
  • Previous responsibility for stock and cash management control (Desirable).
