WS Transportation is looking for professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our growing team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern operating Flatbed trailers. We have a long-standing reputation for delivering excellent careers for professional drivers while operating high-quality vehicles and equipment.
Please note that this position will initially be based at our Runcorn depot (WA7 3EZ) for training. The role will relocate to our Knutsford site (WA16 0PN) in June 2026, where it will be based on a full-time basis. A minimum of 3 months Flatbed trailer experience is required for this role.
Location Pay & Benefits
- £13.50 per hour
- £12.50 daily meal allowance (tax free)
- £25.00 night out allowance (tax free)
- £17.00 Weekend
- Guaranteed 35.5 hours per week
- Overtime available
- Paid every two weeks
- 20 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
- Holiday pay based on average taxable earnings (previous 52 weeks worked)
- 17 weekends per year worked
The Role
- Operating HGV Class 1 Flatbed trailers
- Manual chaining and strapping of loads
- Positioning trailer side protection posts
- Supervising loading and tipping of construction materials including steel and concrete beams
- Working to high health & safety standards
- Operating under FORS Gold Accreditation standards
Your Vehicle
You will be allocated your own dedicated modern Scania vehicle (average fleet age under 2 years), including:
- R-Series Highline and S-Series cabs
- Full leather trim
- Inverters
- Fridges
You will be the sole driver of the vehicle except during annual leave or exceptional circumstances.
