Key Responsibilities

  • Record and manage all safeguarding-related referrals and concerns.
  • Manage digital case-management process.
  • Support safeguarding investigations through evidence gathering and information sharing.
  • Attend Child and Adult Protection strategy meetings and other safeguarding meetings.
  • Conduct risk assessments for safe recruitment per WRU Safeguarding Policy.
  • Convene and organize WRU Safeguarding Panels.
  • Engage stakeholders and lead consultation groups to share best practice.
  • Develop safeguarding resources and tools for clubs and regions.
  • Support clubs in developing safeguarding plans and advise club officers and staff.
  • Coordinate safe recruitment from application to appointment.
  • Assist other functions in Integrity, Regulatory and Competitions departments when required.
  • Collaborate to deliver safe and inclusive environments.
  • Support the WRU Group’s strategic mission, purpose and values.

Contract Details

  • Immediate start required.
  • Full-time contract for 3 months.
  • Closing date: 21st April 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience in safeguarding and regulatory matters.
  • Experience working within a sport governing body or organization, ideally in a safeguarding or regulatory role.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-management skills.
  • Experience with database management and advanced IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to communicate in Welsh desirable.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory compliance.
  • Valid UK driver’s licence desirable.
  • Basic or enhanced DBS check required.
