The predicted salary is between 24800 - 43400 Β£ per year.

To support clubs with business planning, risk management, governance, and culture by utilizing knowledge, best practices, and thematic expertise. Collaborating closely with rugby club committees to understand their priorities and identify where Club Development support can have the greatest impact.

Closing Date: 31st July 2025

Salary: Β£31,000 per annum

Location: Hybrid working with an expectation to work in an agreed WRU office/location at least three days per week.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week on a 7/7 pattern

Responsible to: Club Business Development Lead

Contractual status: Full-time, permanent

The Person

Experience & Knowledge

  • Lived experience or working knowledge of the needs and priorities of community rugby clubs across Wales.
  • Understanding of financial planning, ability to analyze accounts and numerical data, and to identify and manage risks.
  • Experience supporting volunteers in a rugby club environment.
  • Experience of presenting to and speaking in front of large groups.

The Role

Key responsibilities, tasks & actions:

  • Supporting clubs to ensure they are resilient, sustainable, and thriving environments.
  • Providing best practice education and examples of effective community rugby club management.
  • Ensuring clubs are funding-ready and have all required information to accept multiple income streams in line with the One Wales WRU Strategy.
  • Helping clubs develop strong club development and improvement plans to grow through the club investment model.
  • Ensuring clubs have all necessary support solutions to meet their standards as part of the new club investment model.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for rugby clubs.
  • Supporting clubs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

WRU Requirements

  • Valid UK driving license is desirable, as a business vehicle is allocated to the role.
  • This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, reviewed regularly in line with regulated activity and policy requirements.
