p b Job: /b Systems Engineer /p p b Team: /b W Racing Team /p p b Program: /b GTP IMSA /p p b Group: /b IMSA Engineering Group (IMSA_EG) /p p b Reporting to: /b WRT Hypercar P Lead Engineer (LENG) /p p As a Systems Engineer for the BMW M Team WRT IMSA GTP program, you will play a critical role in the technical operation and performance optimization of the BMW M Hybrid V8. You will be responsible for the integration, monitoring, and analysis of the cars complex electronic, hybrid, and control systems. /p p This position requires a proactive engineer capable of bridging the gap between raw data analysis, software functionality, and on-track performance. You will be instrumental in ensuring the highest levels of system reliability and competitive performance. /p p Tasks and responsibilities contain as a baseline, but are not limited to the following: /p ul li Work within the WRT-BMW Engineering Group (Performance Engineering) in WEC to continuously look to optimize and improve performance of our LMDh race cars. /li li Work in tight collaboration with the race car allocated race- and performance-engineer. /li li Oversee the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of vehicle control systems, mainly data acquisition and control systems units, but also including energy and power management, powertrain hybrid systems and braking systems /li li Real-time monitoring of all carโs vital systems during all on-track sessions, identifying and mitigating technical risks to ensure maximum car availability /li li Provide race strategy support to Race Engineer with fuel and energy tracking and optimization /li li Work collaboratively with vehicle dynamics, tires, systems, and simulation teams to validate tools and models /li li Prepare detailed pre- and post-event reports highlighting key systems insights. /li li Assist in developing automated tools for data processing and visualization. /li li Assist in set-up, maintaining and pack down of trackside equipment such as telemetry, radio and IT /li li Support rig tests, dyno work, and simulator sessions as required. /li li Ensure compliance with technical regulations and BoP (Balance of Performance) limitations. /li li Be responsible for systems-related tasks assigned by WRT LMDh Chief Engineer. /li li Work with global BMW and WRT engineering groups to maintain, develop and update any Engineering and analysis tools and software. /li /ul p The Systems Engineer should have the following desired skillset: /p ul li Degree in Motorsport Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. /li li 3+ years proven experience in high-level motorsport environment (LMDh/GTP, Hypercar, GT3, F1, F2 or equivalent formulae). /li li Strong proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, ATLAS/MoTeC, Excel). /li li Proficiency with CAN bus protocols, telemetry systems, and electronic control unit (ECU) architecture. /li li Preferably, familiarity with hybrid powertrain architectures and energy management systems /li li Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, high-stakes environments with tight deadlines. /li li Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with drivers and technical teams. /li li Flexibility to travel extensively, including weekends and long hours at race and test events. /li li Promote our values (People, Passion, Performance) and commit to personal investment into the WRT ESG strategy. /li /ul p If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please click b Apply /b and submit your resume and cover letter. /p
