Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Location: Newport (or within a 45-minute commute)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, rota\’d between 08:00 and 17:30

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

Our Client is seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance & Facilities Manager to take ownership of repairs and preventative maintenance across their UK-based properties. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives on variety and has a broad range of practical building maintenance skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, cladding, and minor joinery tasks
  • Operate suitable plant equipment such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts (IPAF licence required)
  • Liaise with and oversee external contractors where required
  • Adhere to safe systems of work in line with CDM Regulations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong practical skills in electrical, plumbing, cladding, and general building maintenance
  • Experience operating MEWPs (mobile elevated work platforms) with a valid IPAF licence (training may be provided)
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between sites
  • Ability to work independently and within a small, close-knit team
  • Based in Newport or within a 45-minute travel radius

Desirable Qualifications:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification
  • IOSH certification
  • Own tools (tools can also be provided by the company if needed)
