Our client is one of the UK’s leading private self-storage providers, with a growing national presence and an active pipeline of developments. They are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead key in-house development projects, including new build, refurbishment, and mixed-use schemes. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a strong construction background to play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s property portfolio. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and gain hands-on experience in every aspect of self-storage development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from inception through to completion
- Coordinate internal teams, third-party contractors, and external suppliers
- Ensure delivery of projects on time, within scope and budget
- Prepare detailed project scopes, define objectives, and assess technical feasibility
- Oversee resource planning, allocation, and monitor project progress
- Apply verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedules, and costs
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and contractors
- Provide performance reporting and escalate project issues as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, fit-out, refurbishment, and project management
- Experience managing new build steel portal frame construction
- Track record of managing projects from concept to completion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools
- AutoCAD 2D & 3D skills (preferred but not essential)
- Budgeting, analysis, and QS skills are advantageous
- RICS qualification preferred but not essential
