Role Intro: We are searching for an experienced Portfolio Delivery Partner to provide strategic leadership and accountability for a defined Technology portfolio, aligning to Group strategy and delivering sustainable outcomes across multiple business areas. The Portfolio Delivery Partner will work in close partnership with senior business stakeholders to identify, shape and prioritise future delivery demand, progressing initiatives through a structured demand pipeline and into delivery in line with organisational priorities, investment appetite and capacity constraints.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Demand and Delivery, you will lead demand management and work with business leaders to identify, shape and scope future delivery initiatives, progressing through the pipeline from concept to approved delivery with pace.

  • Own the end-to-end delivery performance of a defined Technology portfolio for one or more designated Directorates ensuring all initiatives, current and emerging, are aligned to Group strategy, agreed outcomes and investment priorities.
  • Set delivery and assurance expectations across the designated Directorate portfolios, holding Programme Managers and Project Managers to account for outcomes, and intervening decisively where delivery performance, value or risk profile is unacceptable.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and direction to programme and project managers, embedding disciplined demand management, strong delivery practices and consistent ways of working to build a high-performing, inclusive and empowered team that works with ambition, pace and integrity.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for portfolio demand and delivery issues by building enduring and mutually respectful relationships, engaging Directors, Sponsors and senior stakeholders to resolve conflicts, agree priorities and confirm direction.
  • Own portfolio-level risk, dependency and issue management, ensuring governance forums have clear, timely information to support informed decision-making across both demand and delivery.
  • Lead demand management for designated Directorates working with business leaders to identify, shape and scope future delivery initiatives, progressing demand through the pipeline from concept to approved delivery with pace.

  • Comprehensive and extensive experience of successfully managing the delivery of complex portfolios of projects and programmes including hands-on delivery of large scale Technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and advising Director level stakeholders with advanced leadership, negotiation and decision-making capability.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating commercial acumen, achieving results including ability to meet changing business needs for Technology support and provision of scalable systems.
  • Substantial experience of producing compelling updates including making recommendations for changes needed to ensure delivery performance.
  • Advanced leadership skills managing both direct and matrix teams, building high performing inclusive and collaborative team cultures.
