Rate: £575 per day

WRK digital are shortlisting for an experienced Contract Demand Manager to take end‑to‑end ownership of the delivery process and bring greater structure and visibility to incoming demand. Improving the quality of demand submissions entering governance, reducing bottlenecks and ambiguity at the front end of the portfolio lifecycle. This role is outcome‑driven and focused on delivering more effective prioritisation across constrained delivery capacity and enabling better decision-making through stronger reporting and governance material.
Key Responsibilities
- Demand & Change: Manage the end-to-end demand intake process for new technology and change requests. Ensure all incoming demand is captured, logged, assessed and progressed in line with agreed governance processes. Work with requestors to clarify scope, objectives, benefits, risks, dependencies and indicative resource / cost requirements. Challenge incomplete, unclear or weakly defined requests to improve quality before they enter governance forums. Support the categorisation of demand across projects, BAU change, enhancement requests and strategic initiatives.
- Prioritisation & Governance: Support the prioritisation of demand in line with strategic objectives, capacity constraints, dependencies and value. Prepare papers, summaries and recommendations for governance forums such as portfolio reviews, steering groups or investment boards. Ensure decision logs, actions and outcomes are recorded and communicated effectively. Maintain visibility of pipeline demand and support reporting on current and future portfolio pressures.
- Planning & Portfolio Support: Provide insight into forward demand to support capacity planning, resource forecasting and delivery sequencing. Identify trends, bottlenecks and recurring issues within the demand pipeline and recommend improvements. Work closely with PMO and portfolio leads to ensure demand data supports accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in a Demand Manager, Project Manager or similar role within a technology and/or business change environment.
- Strong understanding of governance, demand management, prioritisation and investment decision-making.
- Experience of working across multiple stakeholders in a complex organisational environment.
- Ability to shape ambiguous requests into clear, structured demand.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of concise governance papers and senior stakeholder briefings.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining demand registers, portfolio dashboards and management information.
- High attention to detail - Ability to ensure that all outputs align with legal and regulatory standards.
