About the Role

WRK digital are proud to partner with a leading consultancy working in the tech for good space, supporting the development of crucial applications within the NHS. We are seeking 3 experienced User Researchers to join the team on a 3-month inside IR35 contract. This role will focus on delivering user‐centred research to inform the design and development of digital services that make a real impact in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and conduct user research activities to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
  • Develop research strategies and methodologies aligned with project goals and NHS standards.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and product teams to ensure user needs are embedded in design decisions.
  • Create and maintain research documentation, personas, and journey maps.
  • Present findings to stakeholders to influence decision‐making with evidence‐based insights.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility, data protection, and ethical research standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a User Researcher in agile, user‐centred design environments.
  • Strong knowledge of research methods and usability testing techniques.
  • Experience working on public sector or healthcare projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate research findings clearly and persuasively to technical and non‐technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and NHS digital guidelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with remote research tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of service design principles.
  • Background in accessibility and inclusive design.
