L2/L3 Support Engineer Contract Position

The Opportunity We're partnering with an award-winning technology consultancy delivering critical digital services across one of the UK's largest healthcare programmes.
We're seeking an experienced L2/L3 Support Engineer to join a cloud operations team supporting business-critical applications hosted across Azure and AWS environments. This is an opportunity to work on a high-profile programme that directly supports essential healthcare services across the UK.
Key Responsibilities Provide L2/L3 support across multiple production applications
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Deliver bug fixes, patches and production enhancements
Perform system upgrades, certificate renewals and secret rotations
Monitor application performance and identify areas for improvement
Lead root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews
Maintain operational documentation, support processes and runbooks
Work closely with development teams to improve reliability and supportability
Participate in an on-call rota supporting live services
Mentor junior engineers and promote operational best practice
Essential Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience supporting production systems
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Development experience in at least one of the following: Java
Python
Node.js
C#
Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience working in business-critical or high-availability environments
Understanding of ITIL principles, service ownership and operational excellence
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience Exposure to AWS
Experience within healthcare, public sector or regulated environments
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
