Responsible to: CCF Contingent Commander

Salary: Hourly Rate: £14.59 - £16.08

FTE Salary: £28,142 - £31,022

Actual Salary: £4,813.61 - £5,306.23 (plus, up to £4,638.96 per annum from the MOD)

Up to 51 days (8 hours a day) per year to be worked flexibly, including some weekends as required for training, camps and expeditions to be paid by the MOD at a rate of £90.96 per day.

Writhlington School runs a successful Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and Outdoor Education Programme. Our CCF is a single service Army Section CCF with around 100 cadets who attend weekly military themed activities on a Wednesday after school, weekend activities, Easter and Summer camps. Our Outdoor Education Programme comprises primarily the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. We have over 100 students each year participate in the DofE Award. Students will participate in expeditions and will gain a new skill, volunteer and engage in a weekly physical activity. In addition to DofE, we run an Adventure Club, a series of standalone events including mountaineering, climbing, coasteering and cross country running.

We are looking to recruit a School Staff Instructor who will assist the Contingent Commander with the administration and equipment required for the CCF and Outdoor Education Programme to run successfully.

You will be an ex-regular or reservist SNCO/Officer or have extensive experience of the cadets forces, hold a full UK Driving Licence, be IT literate, can work independently and with guidance and have good time management and organisational skills. Your enthusiasm and commitment to widening young people’s aspirations will stand you out from the crowd.
