Writer is seeking a founding Embedded DevOps engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with development teams to optimize cloud resources and enhance system reliability, while also contributing to the development and maintenance of our cloud automation and monitoring systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Design and implement scalable cloud automation to support seamless deployment for enterprise customers.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and Python.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud resources and enhance system reliability.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify issues.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses of system failures to identify root causes and prevent future issues.
- Ensure security and compliance of systems, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain business continuity plans for system resilience.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills, log analysis, and performance tuning to maintain system health.
- Create technical documentation and train new engineers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve DevOps practices.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential system failures and performance bottlenecks.
Is this you?
- Proven expertise: 8+ years in software and DevOps engineering.
- Cloud platform experience: 3+ years working with cloud software development and maintenance.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC tools and DevOps practices.
- Security and compliance: Knowledge of data loss prevention, cybersecurity, privacy, and frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm.
- CI/CD pipelines: Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence.
- Programming: Python, Bash, Java, Go, Scala.
- Distributed systems, cloud computing, containerization expertise.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Willingness to take on challenging projects and work under pressure.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with multiple cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Database familiarity: Postgres, BigTable, BigQuery.
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise SaaS environments.
