We are looking for a junior qualified commercial property Lawyer to join our team in Leeds.
You will be working in a collaborative department of 27 lawyers, working across two offices, but primarily out of our Leeds office. The team is structured into specialist areas including commercial property and development, landed estates and rural property, charity and not-for-profit, as well as a smaller residential property team.
This role sits within a busy and forward-thinking team, working closely with clients to support them in achieving their objectives.

What We Can Offer You
Life outside work matters, as does fit. We promote work-life balance, offer agile working, and prioritise colleague wellbeing. Your health and happiness are important to us. We offer an alternative to the full-service corporate firms who have a commercial property offering, as whilst we have an excellent quality of client and workstream, we operate in less corporate and more niche sectors. The variety and interest in the work that we can offer colleagues really suits people looking for a property role without the corporate backdrop.
In addition to great technical work within a friendly and collaborative working environment, we offer:
- Competitive salaries
- Agile Working
- Enhanced Family Friendly Benefits
- Generous holiday entitlement and holiday purchase scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Pension scheme
- Life Assurance scheme
- Group Income Protection
- Employee Wellness Initiatives
- Cash Plan Scheme
- Private Medical Insurance
- 1200 chargeable hours
About the role
This role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of commercial property matters for our niche client base of privately owned businesses, charities, landed estates and trusts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing general commercial property transactions, including acquisitions and disposals
- Advising on landlord and tenant matters
- Advising clients on inter-family or company gifts and associated matters (alongside our nationally recognised private client team)
- Acting on secured lending work, including mortgages and charges
- Preparing and negotiating ancillary property documentation such as easements, options and pre-emption agreements
While previous experience or an interest in specialist areas such as rural property, landed estates, trusts or the charitable sector would be advantageous, it is not essential. Full training and support will be provided to develop expertise in these areas.
The successful candidate will be confident managing their own caseload and working independently, while also contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment. Regular supervision and guidance will be provided as part of ongoing development.
There will also be opportunities to get involved in business development activities, including contributing to seminars, client updates and sector publications. Support and coaching are available, including for public speaking where needed.
Occasionally, the role may require attendance at client meetings or networking events outside of core hours, as well as some travel. However, this is expected to be minimal.
The ideal candidate
This role would suit a junior qualified Lawyer of around 0-3 years PQE.
