Overview
Senior Network Analyst role at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a permanent full-time post (37.5 hours) across Monday to Friday (08:30–16:30) with an on-call rota. This position is based at Leigh Infirmary.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will assist in the development, implementation and support of the Trust\’s IT orientated project within the IT Services Department.
- Maintain and improve the Trust’s network infrastructure to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services.
- Plan, design and develop local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organisation.
- Problem-manage issues that arise due to the deployment of new technology before handover to BAU (business as usual).
- Undertake site surveys, analyse reports and develop specifications of requirements and plans for installation and commissioning of hardware and software.
- Analyse, monitor and review performance, throughput, availability and incidents, and implement improvements.
- Review network topology configuration, assess effectiveness, and advise the Technical Support Manager on the optimum configuration where applicable.
- Select appropriate procedures and tools and carry out specialist tasks related to planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of the Trust’s computer data network.
Requirements & Notes
- Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle; discuss reasonable adjustments if this requirement cannot be met due to a disability before any offer is made.
- On-call responsibilities may be required for senior positions (AFC band 8A or above), if the role is predominantly operational.
