The Job Summary:

Wrightbus is a dynamic and rapidly growing company that has seen significant expansion over the past year. We are seeking a Warranty Manager to ensure accurate and efficient handling of warranty claims, collaborate with engineering and service teams to identify recurring issues, and minimise warranty costs while maintaining customer satisfaction. The role involves overseeing daily warranty operations, developing forecasts for warranty spend, measuring performance against budget, and conducting root cause analysis to share with relevant stakeholders.

The Role:

  • Ensure claims comply with company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve disputed or fraudulent warranty claims.
  • Identify technical issues and analyse claims to identify trends and control costs.
  • Issue reports (e.g. Vehicle life warranty issues, warranty by parts, Vehicle Off Road status, supplier performance).
  • Act as primary contact for warranty inquiries from dealers/customers; resolve escalated disputes fairly and timely.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and service teams to enhance warranty service and handle complaints.
  • Communicate with customers regarding warranty technical fixes.
  • Report weekly to management on warranty and Defect Per Unit performance.
  • Prepare and participate in ISO Audits.
  • Manage and guide team toward company goals; develop and update warranty policies.
  • Sign off Technical Service Bulletins.
  • Monitor/join engineering and manufacturing failure analysis to improve process and customer expectations.
  • Oversee day-to-day warranty operations, including defects and costs (e.g. 3rd party, engineer timesheets).
  • Participate in warranty manual revisions for better clarity of items.
  • Generate risk register to track build trends and reliability issues.
  • Set agenda and join product reliability/warranty meetings; communicate internally.
  • Track direct costs vs. budgets/forecasts for current year and warranty lifetime.
  • Control/develop Parts & Service systems for business needs, efficiency, and reducing non-value activities.
  • Manage warranty returns in line with despatches and claims.

Other Learning and Development duties

  • Collaborate with quality control, production, and other departments to identify areas for improvement and develop effective solutions.
  • Work with Quality Control to highlight key items and raise awareness of manufacturing/engineering issues.
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement to ensure timely availability of required parts.

The Requirements:

  • Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management (or equivalent) and 3 years management experience in a similar role.
  • OR
  • 5 years management experience in a similar role.
  • Experience analysing and resolving customer/supplier technical queries
  • Demonstrate experience in engineering report writing
  • Demonstrate experience with 8D methodologies
  • At least 2 years' experience managing a team or leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong understanding of technical engineering methodologies
  • Excellent organisational, planning and task management skills.
  • Financial awareness, including budgeting and cost estimation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools.
