Pay Rate: £16.05/ hour Benefits: Life Insurance, Medicash scheme, Free car parking on site, Canteen and Career progression. #wbstaff Job Title: Multi Skilled Operator Department: Production Responsible For: Production Line Manager/Operations Manager Purpose Of Post Responsible for the manufacture, assembly, and fitting of detailed parts/assemblies. To complete multiple tasks across several distinct areas of the production build processes Carryout campaign work (on and offsite), retrofits and catch back ensuring productivity targets are met as well as quality and efficiency standards. Conversant with critical processes, SWPs and WMPs necessary to carry out the functions whilst maintaining conformity to Bamford Bus Company customer promise of high-class quality buses. Determine areas for operational/design improvement. Provide support to NPI activities, as and when requested. The need to have a flexible approach and an openness to travel if requested is essential for this position. Key Tasks 1. Responsible for the fabrication of complex parts and assemblies related to the overall manufacturing process. 2. Able to interpret complex part and assembly drawings and schematics and to follow verbal instructions. Able to move between several distinct operations whilst maintaining high quality workmanship and overall efficiency. 3. Responsible for the fitting and assembly of metal, wood, and laminate components to vehicles during the build process in accordance with the customer and build specifications 4. Responsible for the safe operation of plant, equipment and/or hand tools associated with the manufacture, fitting, or assembly of components 5. Responsible for progressing production/NPI vehicles through final stages of production to customer sign-off (CSO). 6. To carry out ad-hoc campaign work, on-site or customer garages, based in or further depending on customer base. Sometimes at short notice. 7. To have the ability to demonstrate good communication and good general knowledge of Wright Group productions systems and build processes. To liaise closely with the Quality & Engineering departments to ensure quality/build concerns are addressed effectively. 8. Responsible for undertaking training or retraining associated with the post or the introduction of new working practices. 9. To liaise closely with production management to highlight areas for improvement to ensure plant operators have every opportunity to build in high-class quality to the bus in the appropriate time. 10. Must be familiar with SCWMP/WMP’s and respective processes. 11. Must have the ability to build good customer relations. Must be able to demonstrate high levels of ability and always present oneself in professional manner when carrying out company business. To set high standard of good work practice in all areas and act as an ambassador for the company when on company business. 12.
