Purpose of Post
We are looking for a hands‑on Manager who is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organisation\’s IT Support and infrastructure.
Service Desk Management
- Resolve user issues and service requests promptly
- Implement and manage ITIL-based support processes
- Monitor SLAs, KPIs, and user satisfaction
- Coordinate escalations and resolve high‑priority issues
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee design, performance, and availability of network, server, storage, and endpoints
- Manage hardware, software, cloud, and on‑premise infrastructure with vendors and internal teams
- Support factory floor systems and minimise downtime
- Maintain business continuity via backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability
Security Management
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials)
- Monitor tools and respond to threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents
- Ensure GDPR and cyber security compliance
- Conduct assessments, scans, and penetration tests
- Manage endpoint security and patching
ERP Support
- Support ERP implementation and rollout readiness
- Provide technical support during testing, migration, training, and early‑life phases
- Align support processes post‑implementation
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team
- Conduct performance reviews and offer training opportunities
IT Policies and Procedures
- Develop and enforce infrastructure and security policies
- Ensure best practice and regulatory compliance
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to IT strategy and roadmap
- Identify improvement and innovation opportunities
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies
Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure legal, regulatory, and industry compliance
- Conduct audits and assess security effectiveness
- Maintain documentation and records
Key Tasks
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services, within the last 7 years.
- Cybersecurity: Proven experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, conducting security assessments, and managing security incidents.
- Team Leadership: 5+ years\’ experience in leading, mentoring, and developing IT Support, infrastructure or Systems Admin teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Vendor Relations: Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service delivery.
