Wrightbus, a fast-moving company with considerable growth in the last year, is seeking an HSE Advisor to assist the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager in developing and implementing management systems appropriate for Wrightbus, along with introducing, coordinating, managing, and controlling related strategies, policies, and procedures.

Key Tasks- Achievement of individual and company objectives.
- Assist in the development of policies, systems and procedures as required and communication of same.
- Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental law and best practice.
- Establish and maintain safe systems of work for all activities.
- Develop a positive business culture and behaviour towards HSE, involving all employees.
- Assist with incident investigation.
- Increase and maintain employee and contractor awareness of HSE issues.
- Manage/action and report on required safety meetings.
- Provide guidance and advice to management.
- Assist with the completion/review of risk assessments.
- Maintain appropriate manual and electronic recording systems.
- Deliver training sessions on relevant HSE aspects.
- Ensure the proper management, corrective, and preventive actions for accidents across all sites, analysing group trends and root causes.
- Liaison with local authorities, e.g., HSE(NI), Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.
- Assist other companies within Wrights Group in safety and environmental matters where appropriate and required.
- Undertake any other duties conducive with the effective operation of the post.
- NEBOSH Certificate or higher-level environmental qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role.
- Incident investigation and reporting.
- Audit and inspections.
- Designing and implementing Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Experience in developing and delivering training courses.
- Proven organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Interpret Health and Safety and Environmental legislation into practical working arrangements.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
