Wright Bus are looking for a Technical Trainer- Electrical who will be responsible for the planning, promotion and delivery of technical training activities in line with business strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each operator is trained and assessed against each of the core skills pertinent to their job role, through the delivery of initial and regular core skills training.
- Ensure all employees are trained against all necessary operations as dictated by the work package.
- Ensure all new and existing employees are clocked to training where applicable and the process of on the job training is followed.
- Review workmanship defect information daily and identify training needs, and proactive solutions to aid in the reduction of defects.
- Revisit operators periodically to validate demonstration of skills, increased skill level or acquirement of additional skills.
- Identify any deficiencies in existing non safety critical WMPs and report/log with the Production Engineering Department.
- Work in partnership with departmental Managers/Directors to assist with organising and/or delivering legislative training, sourcing and costing courses.
- Provide technical knowledge for the team and mentor them on best practice.
- Log training records and ensure that all training is captured accurately and effectively.
- Record training activities if required on a Skills Matrices.
- Audit existing operators ensuring that their training is compliant with current operations.
- Monitor the progression of apprentices and ensure they are following the planned progression route on the shopfloor, as defined by the apprentice training provider.
- Undertake instructor training as required and provide legislative/tool training at Induction stages, and when required.
- Liaise closely with management to highlight areas for improvement to ensure operators have every opportunity to build a high-class quality product in the appropriate time.
- Undertake the necessary safeguarding training and checks in relation to the Company’s safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults policy.
The Requirements:
- Qualified in electrical/electronic at level 3 or above.
- Installation experience of vehicle electrical systems.
- Experience of wiring harness manufacture and modification.
- Capable of reading wiring diagrams.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience within a similar role in an engineering/manufacturing environment or a minimum of 4 years recent experience in demonstrating operations to others.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of safe working and standard work procedures.
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Quality systems.
- Able to demonstrate continuous improvement processes and cost control.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Good organisational ability.
- Decisive, self-starter who can influence and motivate others.
- Positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Can cope well under pressure.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Proven ability to be flexible, working overtime, and changing shift patterns as required.
