We're looking for skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Manager to support all key tasks related to the effective management of a highly skilled, professional engineering team responsible for electrical engineering within Wrightbus.

Responsible for the efficient development of new product introduction, contract production and in-service support of all product types.

The Role:

  • Support the Head of Electrical, Electronic and Software Engineering with associated tasks relating to role.
  • Ensure all development projects are adequately resourced.
  • Work closely with the Product Development Director and the project management team on project key milestones.
  • Develop the skills and tools required within the electrical team to support current and future projects.
  • Liaise with the production department to optimise design and New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Improve the standards of engineering and ensure that engineering designs are robust and properly validated.
  • Drive standardisation across the project verticals within the Engineering Organisational structure.
  • Manage your team's budget and costs.
  • Identify and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Produce a monthly KPI report for the Head of Electrical, Electronic and Software Engineering.
  • Recruit, develop and train the engineering team, and establish future requirements for engineering talent within the company, and succession planning in line with future technological developments.
  • Ensure engineering practices and activities comply fully with company Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes.
  • Support all activities which will result in an improved quality product and support total quality initiatives.
  • To ensure procedures are documented for all critical areas of the build process.
  • To ensure all Safety Critical Processes are followed during the design stage and to support the Product Safety Committee with in-service support.

Requirements:

  • Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience of engineering in a resource planning manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of successfully managing new product developments or new product introductions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience.
  • Proven experience of engineering processes and systems.
  • Demonstrable Electrical Engineering background.
  • Vehicle Engineering Experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in Budget preparation and control.
  • Advanced problem solving capabilities.
  • Previous working experience of dedicated electrical design software (harnesses and schematics) e.g. Zuken E3.
  • Knowledge and use of vehicle control system diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
