Wright Build is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Earthworks & Civil Engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator & Senior Estimator.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for delivering earthworks, enabling works and civil engineering projects across the UK.
Working within an experienced pre-construction team, you'll play a key role in producing accurate, competitive tenders, identifying value engineering opportunities and helping secure a strong pipeline of profitable work.

The Role
You’ll take ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with operational teams, suppliers and clients to produce commercially competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for earthworks and civil engineering projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Complete quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop labour, plant and material pricing.
- Identify value engineering and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Liaise with clients throughout the tender process, responding to commercial and technical queries.
- Assist with project handovers following successful tenders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
About You
- Previous estimating experience within Earthworks, Groundworks or Civil Engineering.
- Strong understanding of first-principles estimating.
- Experience using estimating software such as Con Quest, Causeway, Candy CCS or similar.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and digital take-off software.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Able to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines.
