Location: Birmingham

Salary: £16.50 - £20.50 per hour

Full time Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, Friday, though some flexibility is to be expected.

The company is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to current growth, are now looking to recruit for the position of a CNC Miller Setter Programmer. The successful applicant will be based at the production facility in Birmingham.

The Role

As part of a larger strategy to increase productivity across the business, the company are looking to add a skilled and flexible machinist to their team, whose role will be to support the incumbent CNC team with all aspects of their daily tasks as required, while also supporting the Manufacturing Engineers with lean and 5S projects.

  • Working as a hands-on machinist on either Fanuc or Mazak VMC's
  • Providing absence cover where required
  • Carrying out TPM/PPM activities
  • Programming online at the control
  • Proving Out
  • Working on lean or 5S projects

This role would suit somebody with several years' experience of programming Fanuc VMC's, in a wide range of materials; any turning or Mazatrol knowledge will be a bonus.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completed apprenticeship to Minimum Level 3
  • Extensive experience in setting and running CNC machines
  • Ability to read drawings including GD&T symbols
  • A flexible and 'can do' attitude
  • Mazatrol Experience (Desirable)
  • Turning knowledge (Desirable)
  • Exposure to CAD/CAM (Desirable)
  • Competency with MS Excel, Word (Desirable)
  • CMM operating (Desirable)
