Location: Malvern
Salary: Β£13.50 – Β£19.00 per hour
Hours: Full time Monday to Friday (no weekends)

Job Description

Our client is currently seeking skilled Sheet Metal Workers to join a BIW Assembly/Sheet Metal Department, producing hand-crafted body panels.

The Role

The successful candidates will be working within the BIW Assembly Department/Sheet Metal Department, manipulating pre-formed panels and building complete coach-built bodies and bonnets in readiness for assembly. This will require strong craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing body panels using traditional sheet metal skills and methods
  • Hammer forming components from part or fully pressed components
  • TIG welding of aluminium body panels
  • Preparation of assembled bodies and panels for paint
  • General sheet metal and fabrication work
  • Working to job-specific standard times in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Using manufacturing jigs to ensure precision and quality

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven Sheet Metal/Fabrication/Welding credentials (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Excellent practical TIG/MIG welding skills with a strong understanding of welding distortion
  • Experience manufacturing automotive body panels for the niche/classic car sector
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience preparing BIW assemblies for paint
  • Ability to retain focus during repetitive tasks while maintaining precision
  • Familiarity with MRP manufacturing systems
