Warehouse Logistics Coordinator
Location: Newport
Full-time: Monday to Friday
Salary: £35,000 per annum

Position Overview

The Warehouse Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the storage and movement of packaging, raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods. The role ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers and manufacturing sites, following company procedures to optimize quality, cost, and delivery performance. The coordinator expedites deliveries and dispatches in line with business objectives and supports other activities as needed to meet business requirements.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Manage the storage, transportation, and distribution of retail and professional customer products globally.
  2. Oversee off-site warehouse operations and conduct internal H&S audits.
  3. Ensure efficient delivery of raw materials and components to the production line, adhering to production schedules and Kan Ban systems.
  4. Prepare and verify export documentation for international shipments.
  5. Maintain an efficient store facility, minimizing stock errors and losses.
  6. Generate and store documentation in compliance with company systems.
  7. Assist with stock takes and perform monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  8. Ensure incoming raw materials are in good condition, correctly quantified, and properly stored, reporting issues to Quality or Operations.
  9. Store finished products safely and dispatch them promptly and cost-effectively.
  10. Operate warehouse systems efficiently, following FIFO principles and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and H&S.
  11. Maintain ISO9001/2015 standards.
  12. Utilize the company’s MRP system (currently AX) for stock control and general inquiries.
  13. Complete work orders and perform other duties as assigned by the Production/Operations Manager.

Qualifications – Minimum

  • Forklift licenses: Counterbalance, Flexi/Bendi, PPT.
  • At least 3 years’ experience leading a warehouse operation.
  • Knowledge of modern stock and inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Minimum \’O\’ level education or equivalent, with formal warehouse or supply chain qualifications.
  • Understanding of export documentation procedures and UK dispatch requirements.
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications – Desirable

  • Several years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ Level 4/5 in supply chain or logistics, CIPS membership preferred.
  • Experience with lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen.

  • Team player with good planning and IT skills.
  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate others and work collaboratively.

Other Desirable Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with modern improvement tools and techniques.
  • Strong data handling and PC skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving and opportunity identification skills.
  • Experience in FMCG sector logistics and supply chain management.
