The company is looking for a skilled and detail-focused Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take on a varied and hands-on role, supporting financial control, reporting, compliance, and team leadership within a well-established and growing business.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a key role across a broad range of financial activities, including fixed asset accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end journals, year-end accounts preparation, audit support, reporting requirements, and management reporting. The role also includes day-to-day supervision of two Assistant Accountants and the Purchase Ledger Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Fixed asset accounting, maintenance and reporting
- Month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Balance sheet control account reconciliations
- PSA, P11D and other statutory reporting
- Supporting year-end accounts preparation and annual audit queries
- Producing financial analysis and management reports
- Monitoring key finance processes and controls
- Day-to-day management of the Purchase Ledger Administrator and Assistant Accountants
- Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as required
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a proactive and organised finance professional with strong technical ability and a high level of attention to detail. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working collaboratively with colleagues across the business, and supporting the development of your team. Ideally, you will have:
- ACCA qualification or equivalent experience
- 3+ years' post-qualification accountancy experience
- Strong experience in management accounts, treasury or ledger work
- Excellent Excel and IT skills
- Sage 200 experience would be an advantage
- A diligent, analytical and hands-on approach
