We have a temporary position available for a Production Operative to cover sick leave with an immediate start. Initial 8 week contract (with the possibility to extend).
Aim of the Role:
The aim of a Production Operative at Wright Rubber is to produce goods, mainly gaskets, and fulfill customer requirements whilst working to timescales to ensure orders are packed and shipped within required deadlines. This role requires a flexible individual with previous hands on manufacturing experience. It is essential to have knowledge of CNC style machines and CAD based drawing packages.
You will join a well-established and dynamic team working onsite at our Northside Business park location in Burton on Trent. As a key member of the team, you will operate a CNC knife cutting machine and handle crucial aspects of order fulfilment. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Gasket Cutting - Understanding customer requirements and selecting appropriate materials (rubber and CNAF).
- Cut parts on our ‘Blackman & White Genesis V’ Cutting Machine.
- Understand CAD based drawing packages to draw out required items.
- Utilise a clicker press for efficient gasket punching where necessary.
- Goods Out: Pack customer orders and coordinate with the office for delivery notes and courier details.
- Goods In: Receive deliveries, conduct thorough checks, and update records promptly.
- Organize stock efficiently and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure a tidy work area, dispose of packaging correctly, and address any issues promptly.
Operator's Duties:
- Set up equipment before job execution.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times and conform to required PPE.
- Operate equipment safely and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks for optimal performance.
- Act promptly to resolve any issues and seek guidance when needed.
What we are looking for:

Qualification / Experience:
It is essential to have a basic understanding of CAD and previous experience of CNC style machines - knife cutting flat beds preferable! Full training given.
