We are currently recruiting a qualified Associate solicitor/Senior Associate to join our highly successful, nationally recognised, Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Contentious Probate team.
The structure of the team means that the role is most likely to be suitable for someone between 4- 6 PQE, although we welcome applicants with additional years of PQE.
Ideally, you will be ACTAPS qualified (in full or in part) but applicants without such qualification will be considered.
The work will include dealing with matters for a broad range of clients including very high-profile individuals.
This wide-ranging, nationwide client base will provide you with significant opportunities to work on varied, complex and interesting matters, many of which proceed to mediation or court.
Job responsibilities
- Being responsible for running a caseload of varied Contentious Probate matters and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assisting the Partners in the team on more complex matters.
- Ensuring clients receive accurate, up-to-date legal advice and costs updates which takes account of their circumstances and represents "value for money”.
- Maintaining the integrity of data in key platforms such as Liberate and Worksite by ensuring that they are updated in a timely manner.
- Supporting on business development/marketing activities on an ongoing basis.
- Undertaking legal research both as requested and on your own initiative.

- You will have proven experience in managing a workload of Contentious Probate files.
- You will be adaptable, enthusiastic, have a flexible approach and able to work under pressure both individually and as part of the team.
- You will be able to work closely with colleagues across the Firm to maximise their potential and provide support.
- You will ensure that the client is at the heart of all activities, such that it generates a valued service outcome in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- You will have strong organisation skills and high levels of accuracy, paying attention to detail.
- You will communicate in a timely and effective manner both with colleagues and clients.
