Our engineering client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. The role is offered as a permanent full-time position.

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 pa depending on sales experience

Benefits include:

  • Fully expensed hybrid 24 reg car with personal mileage permitted
  • Bonus: paid twice a year, annually up to 12% of basic salary (KPI related), based on company sales
  • Holiday entitlement rising to 25 days + bank holidays with service
  • Health care after 6 months
  • 4 x DIS

Working hours: Core hours 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Partially remote, office-based one day a week. Out-of-hours phone cover on a rota basis.

Location: Ideally based in London or Essex. Must have a full UK license (max 3 points). Candidates should be 25 or over. Territory includes London, Essex, and surrounding areas.

This role requires an experienced Business Development Manager skilled at booking face-to-face meetings, retaining, and gaining new business opportunities.

Business Development Manager duties:

  • Arrange and book appointments for face-to-face site visits with customers
  • Set strategy, track, and deliver sales account targets aligned with company objectives
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
  • Develop positive relationships with existing customers
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Establish and grow relationships with preferred suppliers
  • Have a proven track record within a sales environment
  • Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Knowledge of CRM software, MS Office, and virtual meeting platforms
