About the Role
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a committed, caring and enthusiastic Level 2 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is a temporary position for 27.5hours per week, commencing as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the Summer Term 2027.
The successful candidate will work under the direct guidance of teaching and senior staff to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with medical needs. You will play a vital role in helping the pupil access learning, develop confidence and make progress both academically and socially, whilst ensuring their medical and wellbeing needs are appropriately supported throughout the school day.
Working closely with class teachers, parents, healthcare professionals and other agencies, you will support learning within the classroom and through targeted individual interventions, following a prepared education and support plan. You will help to promote engagement, independence and inclusion, ensuring that the pupil is able to participate fully in all aspects of school life.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
- Has experience of supporting pupils with additional needs and/or medical needs.
- Has experience of working with pupils in Key Stage 2 (desirable).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and flexibility in their approach.
- Can build positive and effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
- Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
- Works effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
- Is willing to undertake training and follow medical care plans as required.
Experience of working with children who have medical needs is highly desirable. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the successful candidate to ensure they are confident in meeting the pupil's individual medical requirements.
