Fostering Recruitment & Training Officer – 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Are you organised, creative and passionate about making a difference to children and families?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Wrexham Council's fostering team – Foster Wales Wrexham – on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the recruitment, training and ongoing engagement of foster carers across Wrexham.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same. From helping people take their first steps towards becoming foster carers to coordinating training, organising events and supporting our existing fostering families, you'll play an important part in helping us provide safe, loving homes for local children and young people.

You'll be involved in a wide range of activities, including recruitment events and community engagement, coordinating our foster carer training programme, planning activities and events for fostering families, and keeping our carers informed and connected through regular communications.

The role also involves maintaining recruitment and training records, monitoring budgets, preparing performance reports and working closely with colleagues and partner organisations to support the continued development of our fostering service.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is highly organised, proactive and confident managing a varied workload.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Lists, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Enjoys planning events, working with people and building positive relationships.
  • Can work independently, use their initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Is enthusiastic about supporting children, young people and fostering families.

Experience in fostering or Children’s Services would be an advantage, but we’re equally interested in candidates with transferable skills, a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm for the role.

If you’re looking for a role that combines organisation, creativity, community engagement and the opportunity to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

For any queries, please contact Rosie.Huges@wrexham.gov.uk
