Education Access Effectiveness Officer in Wrexham

We're looking for an organised and proactive Education Access and Effectiveness Officer to join Wrexham County Borough Council's Education & Early Intervention Department. Working within the Access & School Places and Education Effectiveness teams, you'll provide essential administrative support that helps the Council plan school places, support education improvement activities, and ensure key education services run smoothly. This role sits at the heart of several important education functions and works closely with schools, senior managers, parents and other stakeholders.

You'll provide a wide range of administrative and coordination support across both teams, including:

• Managing diaries, meetings and minute-taking.
• Preparing letters, presentations, spreadsheets and other documents.
• Supporting the collection and maintenance of information used for school place planning and managing the education estate.
• Helping organise events, professional learning sessions and headteacher briefings.
• Maintaining SharePoint sites, tracking systems and departmental records.
• Coordinating communication with schools and stakeholders.
• Supporting school admission appeals and consultation processes.
• Managing travel and accommodation arrangements and monitoring education-related data and reporting requirements.

This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same.

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, adaptable and confident working in a busy environment. You'll have strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You'll also be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and digital systems, communicating with a range of stakeholders, and handling sensitive information professionally and confidentially. The ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively, be motivated to deliver high-quality support, and have an interest in education and improving outcomes for children and young people.

This role makes a real difference to the planning and delivery of education services across Wrexham. The work you do will help support school place planning, education improvement activities, school admissions processes and the development of learning environments for children and young people. You'll play an important part in ensuring that education services are well organised, compliant with statutory requirements and responsive to the needs of schools and communities.
