Overview
Salary: G10 Β£41,771 – Β£45,091. The post of Commissioning and Contracts Manager is based within the Council\’s Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management Unit and an identified department. The Commissioning and Contract Manager will play a key role in the development and delivery of strategic sourcing activities within the designated category area with the goal of achieving improved value for money outcomes from the Council\’s procurement activity. The post holder will work closely with Category Managers and key stakeholders to develop a forward procurement pipeline and associated implementation plan, as well as embedding process and policy into the designated category area. The post holder will aim to deliver a proactive, professional and highly commercial procurement service that is responsive to service needs and delivery. The postholder will report directly to the Strategic Procurement Lead and will operate in a team environment with other Commissioning and Contract Managers; it will also involve a \’hands on\’ departmental delivery role to assist in the delivery of identified benefits and efficiencies. There is a focus on developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships to drive improvement across the designated area of spend.
