What the Job Involves
This role involves undertaking general kitchen duties including the basic preparation and simple cooking of food, such as snacks and other meal components. You will be tasked with transporting and serving meals to customers, completing HACCP records, and managing general kitchen and dining room duties like washing up, setting up and clearing away food, and moving tables and chairs. Additionally, responsibilities extend to cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, ensuring that corporate policies and procedures are followed, including health and safety, risk management, and financial regulations. You will report to the High School Catering Manager and work within the Catering section of the Assets & Economic Development department to provide a school meals service. Although your primary focus is not direct public interaction or service in Welsh-speaking communities, aligning with council policies and pursuing training and appraisal opportunities is expected. You will also promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults in your daily work. The role requires a commitment to equal opportunities and safeguarding practices.
