The Role
Wrexham AFC Women are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sports Therapists or Sports Rehabilitators to join our Girls Academy medical team on a casual basis.
The successful candidate will provide pitch‑side medical cover and injury management for our U13 and U15 Girls Academy squads, supporting the delivery of a safe, professional and player‑centred medical service.
Working closely with coaches and the women's medical team, the role involves injury assessment, acute injury management, rehabilitation support and contributing to the ongoing physical development and welfare of academy players within a positive learning environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide pitch‑side medical cover during academy training sessions and fixtures.
- Assess and manage acute injuries in accordance with current best practice.
- Deliver immediate first aid and emergency care where required.
- Assist with injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation planning.
- Support the delivery of injury prevention and warm‑up programmes.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaches and medical staff regarding injury management and return‑to‑play.
- Escalate injuries appropriately to the Lead Sports Rehabilitator or external healthcare professionals when required.
- Ensure all safeguarding, welfare and medical governance standards are maintained.
- Assist with occasional academy events, festivals and trial days where required.
About You
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation.
- Up‑to‑date trauma qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, reliable and organised approach.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
