The Role

This role provides operational leadership across First Team and Emerging Talent scouting activity in Northern Europe, ensuring that player identification, fixture coverage, reporting and internal communication are delivered with consistency and precision. • Serve as the central point of contact for outgoing scouting requests from the First Team Recruitment Department.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Scout Schedule Planner, covering relevant domestic and international fixtures.
  • Allocate live and video scouting assignments through the internal scouting system, based on priority targets, competition coverage and departmental requirements.
  • Use market intelligence to support the identification and prioritisation of realistic targets linked to the Club’s needs.
  • Coordinate and prioritise scouting coverage for First Team-ready players and longer-term Emerging Talent prospects, ensuring activity is aligned to Wrexham AFC’s recruitment needs.
  • Review scout reports and performance metrics, escalating concerns or inconsistencies to the Head of Recruitment where appropriate.
  • Ensure all target players are accurately assigned within internal systems and added to the appropriate scouting shortlists.
  • Work closely with other coordinators and the Lead Video Analyst to maintain an aligned scouting schedule and encourage appropriate cross-referencing of player observations.
  • Complete weekly gap analysis to identify missed, incomplete or unreported player coverage, following up as required.
  • Manage the internal scouting database, maintaining data quality, compliance and system efficiency.
  • Communicate assignments in a timely manner, allowing sufficient lead time for preparation, follow-up and fixture confirmation.
  • Monitor and report on scouting coverage across both immediate First Team targets and longer-term potential prospects.
  • Support the design, preparation and ongoing improvement of scouting report templates and outputs.
  • Regularly review internal and external databases to ensure key targets are effectively tracked and monitored.
  • Provide administrative support across fixtures, assignments, coverage analysis and match attendance planning.
  • Liaise with external clubs and organisations, both domestically and internationally, to coordinate ticketing and match access where required.
  • Maintain compliance with EFL and FA regulations relating to scouting operations, governance and associated administrative processes.
