Inclusion Unit Assistant

Be the difference that helps every student thrive. We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and dedicated Inclusion Unit Assistant to join our Inclusion Team, providing targeted support to students and helping them overcome barriers to learning, engagement and achievement.

About You: Wrenn School are seeking a caring and proactive Inclusion Unit Assistant who is committed to helping students achieve their full potential, regardless of the challenges they may face. You will have a genuine passion for supporting young people and the ability to build positive, professional relationships that promote confidence, resilience and engagement with learning. You will be patient, empathetic and adaptable, with the confidence to support students with a range of educational, behavioural, social and emotional needs. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, families and external agencies, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring every student feels valued, supported and able to succeed.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

• A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
• Experience of working with children or young people in an educational, pastoral, safeguarding or support setting.
• The ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues and families.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach, particularly when supporting students who may be experiencing challenges.
• The ability to motivate, encourage and engage students in their learning and personal development.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to inclusion, equality, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Good behaviour management and conflict-resolution skills.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the changing needs of students and the wider school.

We work collaboratively to remove barriers to learning, promote wellbeing and provide targeted interventions that enable students to engage positively with school life. Our team supports students with a wide range of needs, delivering personalised strategies and pastoral support to help them make academic, social and emotional progress.
