Wren Pubs is a portfolio of welcoming historic local freehouses in some of London's most charming neighbourhoods. Our pubs offer delicious, unfussy modern-British cooking and interesting drinks menus, complemented by comfortable interiors, striking art collections and imaginative events programmes.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute General Manager to lead one of our West London freehouses. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of the business where you will set the culture, develop the team and ensure every service reflects the warmth, quality and identity that defines Wren Pubs.

Key responsibilities:
  • Set and protect the culture of the pub, ensuring every shift reflects Wren's warmth, standards and identity.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a talented front-of-house team, with a focus on long-term retention and growth.
  • Take full ownership of the P&L, budgets and weekly trading performance, identifying opportunities to grow the business.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to champion the modern-British food ethos and develop seasonal menus.
  • Lead on recruitment, onboarding and succession planning to build a stable, high-performing team.
  • Act as a brand ambassador in the local community, building the pub's reputation and driving footfall.
  • Report into and collaborate with the Wren Pubs leadership team on strategy, standards and new initiatives.
  • Champion staff wellbeing, development and retention, creating a place people are proud to work.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Substantial General Manager experience within a quality food-led pub, gastropub or restaurant.
  • A strong working knowledge of modern-British food and a genuine passion for wine, beer and spirits.
  • Proven ability to lead teams with warmth, structure and commercial focus.
  • Experience owning P&L, GP targets and labour costs.
  • The character to become a true figurehead of their local community.
  • Availability across 48 hours per week including weekends.
