Role

An Advanced Craft Plumber is responsible for delivering a high-quality, customer focused responsive repairs service across the group’s housing portfolio, including both occupied and empty properties. The role undertakes a full range of plumbing works and carries out additional multi‑skilled repairs in line with, but not limited to the Advanced Craft Skills Matrix. Working as part of a Regional Responsive Repairs and Maintenance team, the post holder supports the Group’s same‑day repairs service and wider maintenance obligations. The role operates across a seven‑day service and adopts a proactive ‘stay and do’ approach to maximise right first‑time repairs, minimise repeat visits and disruption, and improve customer outcomes. You will also be required to complete continuous professional development, to further support you and your role at the Group.

What we mean by Advanced Craft?

As an Advanced Craft operative, you will be multi‑skilled and able to carry out a range of repairs beyond your core trade. Using our Advanced Craft Skills Matrix, you may be asked to complete minor tasks such as basic plumbing, carpentry, plaster patching, tiling or decorating. This flexible approach allows us to resolve more repairs in a single visit, reduce follow‑on work and deliver a quicker, more efficient service for our customers.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Hold a City and Guilds qualification in one of the building trades or equivalent time served in one of the building trades
  • Experience post apprenticeship particularly on maintenance of domestic properties
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Undertake a Basic DBS Check
