To work in the Nuclear Silos design team, leading a team of Control System Design Engineers delivering, supporting others delivering and checking designs/updates to meet functional and business needs.
Essential:
- Security Clearance: SC or the ability to obtain
- Experience: Control System Lead Design Engineer role on external multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working knowledge of the appropriate Engineering Standards
- Experience of SCADA/PLC control systems and network architectures
- Willingness to develop early career Control System Design Engineers
Able to:
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of persons/teams
- Contribute to the development of programmes and estimates to support project/task planning
- Prioritise and assign work
- Understand, review and challenge control system requirements
- Deliver to challenging targets
- Report on design progress
- Contribute to design assurance tactics and reviews
- Provide design support during Procurement/System Integration
- Provide design support during Installation
- Provide design support during Commissioning
Desirable:
- SL multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working understanding of the appropriate external and SL Engineering Standards
- Experience in the production of detailed design packages; Drawings, Specifications (CONCISE), Outline Installation Method Statements, CDM design risk assessments, Residual Risk Assessments, in addition to the supporting Quality, Operations and Maintenance documentations
- Experience in working with Control System/servo drive interfaces
