The WRc Waste and Resources team are looking for an additional Senior Consultant to help grow our expert consultancy team. This is a permanent full-time position (37 hours), with a minimum of three days in the Swindon office.

We are seeking a science trained consultant with experience in the Waste and Resources sector. Building on your academic and practical experience you would provide technical and commercial leadership to ‘WRc’s waste doctors’. The role offers wide ranging development opportunities and a pathway to promotion to Principal Consultant.

We provide clients with operational and regulatory compliance consultancy to support sustainable waste operations and recovery of end-of-life products for industries transitioning to the circular economy. We are recognised as experts in waste characterisation and classification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support leadership of the Waste and Resources team in planning and delivering high quality consultancy projects with the team.
  • Develop services to expand and improve current commercial offerings and develop costed proposals to meet customer needs.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior colleagues to support and inspire their technical development.

Person Specification

  • A degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Technical leadership of projects to agreed budgets and timeframes.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team to deliver high quality outputs and develop skills to diversify.
  • A chemical or environmental degree with extensive experience in waste characterisation, process monitoring and/or optimisation (desirable).
  • Strong working knowledge of waste regulation (desirable).
  • Significant experience in environmental consultancy, environmental management or regulatory roles (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and engagement skills, including social media.
  • Advanced subject matter expertise in waste characterisation and classification, sorting and recycling processes, emissions monitoring and/or environmental regulation.

Salary And Benefits

  • £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.
