FPGA Programmer in Norfolk

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start.

Travel Requirements: 5% - 10%.

Location: Norfolk, VA.

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Programmer to perform non-routine and complex technical assignments involving the planning and execution of a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger, more complex project. The FPGA Programmer will select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, and layouts; collaborate with personnel across related technical activities to resolve problems and coordinate work; and review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests and experiments; analyzes results; and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance.
• Develops designs for equipment involving complex or difficult-to-satisfy performance requirements.
• Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; evaluates possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, and related technical documentation.
• Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance.
• Supports troubleshooting, testing, integration, and evaluation of hardware and associated systems.
• Collaborates with engineering and technical personnel to resolve design, integration, and performance issues.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Eight (8)+ years of full-time professional, hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and/or testing of major systems.

Position Salary Range: $88,000 - $129,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
