SUMMARY: WR has a potential opportunity for a Field Service Representative, Lead (NAVCERT). This role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to represent the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in conducting Navigation Certifications (NAVCERT) aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct dockside and at-sea tests; analyse collected data and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural issues.
- Provide expertise to resolve navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and assist in developing and updating required documentation and procedures.
- Travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative; conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
- Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and/or inspections.
- Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects.
- Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
- Continuously develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to ongoing and anticipated projects.
- Maintain and seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians.
- Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical training in U.S. Navy Navigation Systems.
- Five (5)+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
- Systems Requirements
- Operational Requirements
- Test & Evaluation
- Training
