This is a full-time opportunity for someone based in our Shrewsbury office within our internal finance team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant with a positive attitude and a willingness to develop their management accounts experience within a growing firm. Supported by experienced finance professionals, you will be involved in processing month-end journals, carrying out daily bank reconciliations, preparing weekly supplier payments, and building strong internal and external relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Process invoices
- Ensure all purchasing policies and internal controls are adhered to
- Deal with supplier queries
- Ensure creditor balances are accurate including the monthly reconciliation of the creditor control account
- Ensure posting of monthly client disbursements into practice management system
- Prepare weekly supplier payment for authorisation
- Process bank transactions with the accounts package on a daily basis ensuring correct posting of receipts and payments to customer and supplier accounts respectively
- Raise invoices to clients in support of billing of digital subscriptions, tax investigation and registered office services
- To assist in administration of subscription starters and leavers ensuring client is billed accurately
- To assist in chasing outstanding debt
- Process month end journals
- Ensure timesheets and expenses are approved
- To assist in undertaking month end checks, ensuring accurate financial data
- To support in the completion of the monthly management accounts
Requirements
- Level 3 AATdesirable
- Previous experience working in a finance role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
