We are recruiting for an Air Import Customs Clerk or Customs Broker to join a well-established and reputable freight forwarding company based in West Drayton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, professional team handling international airfreight imports for a wide range of customers.
Salary: Up to Β£35,000 (depending on experience)
Location: West Drayton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:30 (1 hour lunch)
Holiday - Generous Pension
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for air imports, ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience handling import customs entries and working within a UK freight forwarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing customs entries for incoming airfreight shipments
- Liaising with HMRC, airlines, and ground handling agents
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations
- Handling import documentation, such as AWBs and commercial invoices
- Communicating with clients and internal departments to provide updates and resolve queries
- Managing ETSF records and ensuring accurate job costing and invoicing
Requirements:
- Previous experience working for a UK freight forwarder is essential
- You must have experience using ASM Sequoia to be considered for this role
- Strong knowledge of import customs clearance procedures
- Candidates with an air import operations background and strong customs knowledge will also be considered
