A long-established freight forwarder is looking to add a Multimodal Freight Forwarder to their expanding team. This position has a strong ocean freight bias, but you'll also work across road and air to support the full end-to-end process. Ideal for someone confident in export operations, with import experience considered a real advantage.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinate multimodal shipments with a primary focus on ocean freight-handling bookings, documentation, carrier liaison, and compliance.
  • Manage end-to-end export operations and support import processes when required.
  • Oversee key milestones from origin to final delivery, ensuring deadlines and service expectations are met across all modes.
  • Prepare and process Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, export declarations, and all other relevant multimodal shipping documents.
  • Liaise daily with carriers, hauliers, overseas agents, airlines, and customers to ensure smooth cargo flow.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, providing updates throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot delays or operational issues, maintaining strong relationships with partners and clients.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding for a UK-based freight forwarder, with exposure to other modes (road/air).
  • Strong understanding of export customs processes and international shipping procedures.
  • Imports knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple shipments across different modes.
  • Comfortable using freight systems/software.
