We are working with a well-established, close-knit freight forwarding business where every team member plays a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. With a team of just 8 people, this is an environment where you are truly valued - not just another number. They are looking for an experienced forwarder who has multimodal experience, with a bias in road and sea freight import operations. The team is split between defence and general freight, and this position sits within the general freight division. Key Responsibilities of a Multimodal Import Operator:

  • Manage the full end-to-end import process
  • Complete 5-10 customs clearances per day
  • Handle import customs entries for road and sea freight
  • Work with systems including CDS, CNS, Destin8, ORP and IRP procedures
  • Arrange shipments across road, sea, and some air freight
  • Raise quotes and manage invoicing in line with tariffs
  • Liaise with customers, agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment flow

Requirements:

  • Strong, hands-on experience in import customs clearance (essential)
  • Fully conversant with CDS, CNS, Destin8, ORP, and IRP procedures
  • Experience managing the full customs process end-to-end (essential - candidates without this will not be considered)
  • Good understanding of import freight forwarding across multiple modes
  • A team player with a willingness to support and learn other areas of the business
  • Multifreight system experience would be advantageous
