We are currently recruiting for a Freight Quotations Clerk to join a busy freight and logistics team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys dealing with customers, working with figures and providing a fast, accurate service. You'll be responsible for preparing freight quotations, responding to customer enquiries and following up opportunities to help turn quotes into bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing freight quotations using the company's 360 portal and in-house systems
  • Ensuring quotations are accurate and sent to customers quickly
  • Following up quotations with customers by phone
  • Asking the right questions to understand customer requirements and maximise booking opportunities
  • Monitoring and mapping competitor activity
  • Providing feedback to management and the team leader that could help secure future bookings
  • Building positive relationships with customers through professional and friendly communication

About You

  • Good customer service skills, both by phone and email
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with basic maths and using a calculator
  • Good basic IT skills
  • Confident speaking with customers and asking relevant questions
  • Organised, proactive and able to work to a fast turnaround

Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or a quotations environment would be advantageous, but attitude, customer service skills and attention to detail are key.
