Are you an experienced project cargo, breakbulk, or port logistics professional looking for an opportunity to take ownership of commercial growth within a developing specialist function? We are working with a well-established UK logistics and port operations business that is expanding its project cargo capabilities. They are looking for a commercially focused individual who can combine customer development with operational understanding to drive growth and deliver complex cargo solutions.
This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to shape processes, develop client relationships, and provide pricing and quotations to help build the operation.
The Opportunity
As Project Cargo Pricing Specialist you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and supporting the successful delivery of complex cargo operations. There will be no 'cold sales', but you will be tasked with building lasting client relationships. You will act as the link between commercial activity and operational delivery, working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure project cargo movements are planned effectively, competitively priced, and delivered to a high standard. The role will involve a mix of commercial development, customer engagement, quotation management, and operational coordination.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have experience working within a port, terminal, logistics, or cargo handling environment, with a strong understanding of project cargo, breakbulk, heavy lift, or specialist freight operations. We are looking for someone who combines commercial ability with operational knowledge - someone who understands the realities of delivering complex cargo projects and can confidently manage customer relationships, pricing, and operational requirements. This is a hands-on role for someone who has a 'personable' approach and ability to build long-standing relationships.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience within port, terminal, logistics, project cargo, breakbulk, Ro-Ro, or heavy lift environments.
- Strong commercial experience including customer management, pricing, negotiation, and business development.
- Understanding of international cargo handling operations, lifting activities, and lashing requirements.
- Experience coordinating complex operational activities within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Some UK travel required for client meetings and industry events (expenses covered).
- Full UK driving licence required.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project cargo or port logistics experience to step into a commercially influential role and help shape the future growth of a specialist operation.
