Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a highly respected specialist freight forwarder, for an experienced Air Freight Operator to join their growing operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid freight forwarding background who enjoys working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment and can confidently manage export shipments from start to finish.

The role is heavily focused on Exports, with shipments moving primarily via Air Freight and a smaller amount via Road Freight.

Package & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling export air freight shipments from booking through to delivery
  • Preparing and cutting Air Waybills (AWBs)
  • Liaising with airlines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers
  • Managing time-critical and express shipments
  • Ensuring all freight documentation is accurate and compliant
  • Coordinating occasional road freight movements
  • Providing high levels of customer service in a specialist logistics environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in Air Freight Operations
  • Strong export operations knowledge
  • Experience cutting Air Waybills is essential
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure with urgent shipments
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Dangerous Goods experience or certification would be a strong advantage
